The Hawthorn Running Group (HRG) is a community-based run group that is suited to all levels of runner, whether you are aiming to complete your first parkrun, or training towards your 10th Marathon. Our aim is to provide a friendly, supportive, and inclusive environment where individuals can develop confidence, improve their general fitness and work towards reaching their full running potential.
HRG train at local parks within the Hawthorn and Kew suburbs:
Tuesday (6:00am) Victoria Park, Kew
Thursday (6:00am) St. James park, Hawthorn
Sunday Long Run (8:00am) meeting at the Eaglemont Tennis Club carpark and run along the Yarra Flats Trail.
Training sessions run for approximately 60 min. and are tailored to suit all levels of ability and vary in their structure and distance. The group is made up of a mixture of Runners, Triathletes and individuals that just like to stay fit and are happy taking part in the run sessions to complement other training. All sessions are taken by an Australian Athletics Qualified Distance Coach.
Our members participate (not mandatory) in numerous runs throughout the year, including local parkruns, Run Melbourne, Great Ocean Road Marathon, Melbourne Marathon Festival, Puffing Billy, Run 4 the Kids just to name a few and overseas Marathons.
