Lace up your shoes and experience the thrill of one of Adelaide’s most iconic events – the Adelaide Marathon!
The Adelaide Marathon Festival is South Australia’s premier running event, taking participants through scenic locations in the Adelaide CBD. Celebrating its 47th edition in 2025, it’s one of the few Australian races held annually without interruption—even continuing safely during COVID-19. The two-lap, spectator-friendly course has an elevation gain of 160 meters and covers landmarks like Bonython Park, the River Torrens, Botanic Gardens, and Uniloop.
The course is AIMS certified, allowing runners to qualify for events like the Boston Marathon. Prize money is awarded across all race categories (Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, and 5km) for top finishers. Organized by the South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC), a non-profit club run by dedicated volunteers.
This event attracts thousands of runners seeking a scenic and challenging course. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or a casual fun runner, there’s a distance for you to conquer.
The event was previously held in August but has moved to May in 2025.
