The Sturt River Linear Park Trail is a scenic 7.4km paved path west of Adelaide, conveniently located near Glenelg and the beaches. Named after Australian explorer Charles Sturt, this trail offers a pleasant running experience alongside the Sturt River.

Description:
The trail commences near the Anzac Highway Bridge/Immanuel College and winds southeast for 7.4km, concluding at the Warriparinga Wetlands. The wetlands, named after the Kaurna Aboriginal word for “windy place by the river,” are a significant ecological area perfect for environmental and cultural exploration. Along the route, you’ll encounter parks, playgrounds, and historical sites, including remnants of former market gardens. Be aware of a few busy road crossings throughout the journey.

Oakland’s Wetland and Reserve: Located 2.5km south from the start of the Sturt River Trail, this reserve offers a 2.5km detour on gravel paths. Explore the local wildlife and protected species, including the Grey-headed Flying-fox.
