Profile
The Ballarat Marathon is a two-day running festival scheduled for Saturday, 26 April, and Sunday, 27 April 2025, in Ballarat, Victoria.
The event offers various races to accommodate runners of all levels, from a road mile through to the marathon.
The marathon and half marathon courses are designed by Steve Moneghetti and feature scenic routes through Victoria Park, the Arch of Victory, and around Lake Wendouree, finishing along historic Lydiard and Sturt Streets.
The courses are certified by AIMS and measured to World Athletics standards, making them suitable for qualifying times for major marathons like Boston or New York.
The 2025 Ballarat Marathon’s Mile Race has been selected by Athletics Australia as the host of the inaugural Australian Road Mile Championships.
Participants who register for the marathon or half marathon will receive a pair of Ballarat Marathon-branded high-performance socks from Steigen.
Personalized race bibs are available for those who register before 1 March 2025.
The event offers a total prize pool of $60,000 across all distances, with specific prize money allocated for top finishers in each race.
Additionally, the marathon includes time bonuses for winners who achieve specific time thresholds.
