Description:
The Capital City Trail reigns supreme among Melbourne’s waterfront running paths. This mostly paved loop follows the scenic Yarra River through the heart of the city, offering a flat and accessible route for runners of all levels.

Description:
Main Section: Commencing near Federation Square, embark on your run along Batman Avenue (named after city founder John Batman).
North Bank: Follow the path along the Yarra River’s northern bank until you reach Yarra River Reserve and Herring Island.
Return via South Bank: Cross the river and return along the southern bank via Alexandria Avenue.
Flexibility: This loop is roughly 11 km, but you can customize your run by choosing one bank at a time or shortening the distance by crossing a footbridge midway.
