There’s 30 different parkrun locations within metropolitan Sydney, providing easy access to complete a 5km run each Saturday morning as well as ample variety for those who wish to travel.
The first parkrun in Sydney was St Peters parkrun (established in November 2012). Wentworth Common parkrun (established January 2022) is Sydney’s newest parkrun.
The majority of Sydney’s parkrun have average attendance between 90 and 220 runners each week, but there’s some that are consistently larger and smaller.
In terms of average participant the largest five parkruns in Sydney are:
- The Ponds parkrun – 402 participants
- Rhodes parkrun – 305 participants
- St Peters parkrun – 301 participants
- Centennial parkrun – 300 participants
- Curl Curl parkrun – 253 participants
While the smallest are:
- Whalan Reserve parkrun – 46 participants
- Cronulla parkrun – 46 participants
- Werrington Lakes Reserve parkrun – 48 participants
- Mosman parkrun – 56 participants
- Casual Parklands parkrun – 63 participants
